Rant for the week: I am continually amazed by the number of people who think its perfectly OK to sit in the handicapped section at the Jr. Cougar games (I am sure it happens at Bulldog and Cougar games too) when they are not handicapped. There are 6 or 7 benches there and of course, they will sit on the three right in front of the cheerleaders blocking the view of the cheerleaders parents seated in the regular bleachers. Some are handicapped, I get it, not in front of the cheerleaders would be appreciated. Especially if you do not HAVE a cheerleader in the game! I get that some handicaps are unseen handicaps. My husband has two partial knee replacements. Technically he is handicapped. Would he sit in those seats? Never, because he is able to walk up the steps and I am SURE that many of the people in those seats can too. Not all, but many. As for the we have a stroller people--PLEASE. Get over yourself. Babies are portable and so are their strollers. The sign doesnt say lazy parents with strollers it says HANDICAPPED. I schlepped my baby Mia AND her stroller up the bleachers (our bleachers are rock solid metal WITH backs and ample room to accommodate strollers in the footwells) when Ava cheered from Kindergarten through 4th grade. Now I am TRYING to watch Mia cheer but cant due to obnoxious morons who two weeks in a row had their UMBRELLA stroller right in front of my daughter. All the benches to the sides of the cheerleaders sat empty. I dont think youd be too pleased if I went and sat my fat arse in front of your football player. And as for the Rent a Cops who do nothing about it: what the hell are the taxpayers/leagues paying you for?
