Rant on: Marley is a long-haired Maltipoo - and looks more Maltese than Poodle, which we like. Its been many years since I had a dog with hair rather than fur, which requires professional grooming. I had no idea where to take him, read groomer reviews online and decided to take him to PetSmart. BIG MISTAKE! His first visit was 2 months ago, when I repeatedly stated that I wanted no hair removed from his head - only his bangs clipped so they werent obstructing his eyes. When I picked him up, shed shaved his head down to about 1/8 inch! I decided that Id give PetSmart another chance - with a different groomer. This one seemed more knowledgeable, so I left him yesterday with very explicit instructions: Do not trim the hair on his head, other than his bangs - and take only 1 off of his body. What we absolutely do not want is him looking like a Poodle! I picked him up and didnt even recognize my dog! His head was left alone - except the back of his head, which was shaved to about 1/4 - as was the rest of his body and legs - including about a third of his fluffy tail! Noelle said he looks like a Q-tip! I dont know whether PetSmart groomers are on crack on what - but Ill NEVER take an animal there again. EVER! /Rant off.
