Rapides Parish is currently under a Flash Flood Alert. Thunderstorms are expected to continue through Sunday. The City of Alexandria urges neighbors to help keep storm water drains clear of debris so that water may drain freely from city streets. The City also warns motorists to stay clear of low lying areas and above all do not drive through standing water. If you do get stuck call 911 immediately. Failing to avoid standing water creates a public safety hazard and puts you, your passengers and other motorists at risk as well as unnecessarily putting first responders at risk.
