Rarely is a LabraDOG adopted update so amazing and so heart - TopicsExpress

Rarely is a LabraDOG adopted update so amazing and so heart breaking at the same time. I received news last week that Harley has been diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. The vet advice is that the condition is likely congenital and will significantly shorten Harleys life span. You will better remember Harley as Aubreys puppy Liffey. I really am a little lost for words and I feel very sad that this amazing family wont have a long time with Harley. That said I know Harley is living a fabulous life and that her family are committed to making the very most of their time with their beautiful bear - who they all love so much. Below is an update from Harleys mum Alice. ********************* Hi Amanda, Today is our one year Harley-verisary! I promised some pics when I emailed you last week. Heres a quick year in pictorial review. As I tell everyone she really does complete our family and we cant imagine life without her gorgeous, cheeky, smiley face. Everyone who meets her just falls in love with our little hound. Shes smart - head strong but treat motivated so training isnt too hard - and so so gentle, kind, loving and funny! But thats not to say in our first year together we havent lost out fair share of shoes, bras, coats, kids toys, socks (so many socks!), schools uniforms, walls, chair legs and skirting boards to her Labbie ways! And my god does Harley the Hoover love food! I think the best story - that sums her up to a tee - is the panicked and incredulous phone call we got from Justins uncle who was house and puppy sitting for us one weekend last year. He swears on his mothers grave the pantry door was shut tight - but she managed to sneak in overnight and quietly open a 3 pack of sardines tins (she loves sardine Sunday!). He came out in the morning to 3 perfectly unpeeled tins (no cuts!) and all licked completely clean. Clever, cheeky girl!! She has a nose for any food and since then the pantry is locked and our house mantra is elevate, elevate, elevate! I mentioned the other day that weve just discovered she has kidney failure - so while we are so very very sad we are making sure every moment with our favourite girl counts. Thank you again for trusting us to bring one of the pups into our family. And thanks for all you do Alice *************** Thanks so much for the update Alice. Please let us know how Harley goes over the coming year. Your gorgeous bear and beautiful family will be in our thoughts.
