Rats are so amazing!!! (one of the main reasons why they are used so heavily in lab experiments -- horrible example but true) Ive had them on/off through out my whole life and I still have two now (Lars and Olaf before them I had Ester and Stella) which I have posted every now and then on here. They are just as smart or even smarter than a dog. With positive reinforcement you can train them to do just about anything (like this video demonstrates). My boys come to me when called from where ever they may be. I also have a couple of cats and they treat my rats like part of the family and so do my dogs. If you treat them right and feed them properly they can live very healthy lives. It breaks my heart to see other people keep them stuck in a cage their whole lives when after you watch this video they are capable of so much more!!! enjoy! BTW the clicking sound you hear is just the rat owners positive cue to the rat that it did what was expected. Early on in training its usually followed by a treat (just like dog training) but then you can take the treats away at a later time. youtu.be/1A07gDVLe14
