Rawalpindi Incident - Appeal: To condemn the loss of lives and ugly scenes of burning down of Mosques and Imambargahs and property in Rawalpindi and other cities/towns, the least we can do is to demand and advocate for a fair, unbiased investigation so that concrete evidence and insights are obtained into the whole episode. Once the persons/groups responsible for initiating the verbal attack as well as those being involved in physical violence that lead to loss of lives and property are identified, we all must openly condemn them without any bias. Anyone found guilty of unjustified acts, should also be punished as per the guidelines provided by the Quran, teachings of Masoomeen (A.S) and the local laws. When we consider Quran and teachings of Masoomeen (A.S) supreme, then there is no question of being biased against the opponents or in favour of our own people. We appeal to all Shias and Sunnis, to realize the gravity of situation, and not pass any sweeping statements against the whole community. When both Shias and Sunnis take pride in being followers of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) and Quran. then why be biased and spread information after twisting or exaggerating it in a way that favours us? Imam Hussain (A.S) in Karbala left no room for Munafqat. Either there were pure souls with Hussain (A.S), or baatil forces with Yazeed, there was no munafiq in between. We also need to be bold and brave, and truthfully own all our actions. If our actions are justified as per Quran and Seerat of Masoomeen(A.S), good enough. And if our actions are not according to what ALLAH and Masoomeen (A.S) require from us, then sadly we have to change ourselves instead of changing religion. We also want our Sunni bradraan to know that Shias will never be happy on violence, loss of property and most importantly loss of any innocent life. And therefore we demand a fair, unbiased investigation and we should then accept the outcomes even if mistakes/crimes are found on our part. Sunnis are are also requested to not allow the takfiri elements and banned terrorist organizations to represent the Sunni bradraan. We again appeal to all Shias as well as Sunni bradraan, to realize the gravity of situation, identify and capture the takfiri/extremist elements, and do not let them represent you or ignite people on behalf of you. Let the teachings of your own religion and local law take its own course and advocate for punishing the culprits involved in any sort of vioelnce and unethical / illegal activity in the very name of religion. May ALLAH grant us the courage and will to be brave and bold in analysing our actions rationally.
