Razzmatazzs Adventure Walk: Hi Clara, Thank you for donating to a shelter dog in need! Your kind gift made it possible for Razzmatazz from Richmond Animal Care and Control to get out of the kennel and for a fun hike by the James River today. Razz is a 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull Terrier who is a little pint sized guy! He only weighed about 40 lbs but every bit of him was wiggling all around and he was grinning from ear to ear when I let him out of his kennel. Razz led the way out of the shelter and was very curious about the car. He took his time investigating the vehicle before he was comfortable getting in the back, but when he was ready he let me give him a boost. He was thrilled to see a comfy blanket to plop down on and was set for the ride. I rolled down the windows as we made our way to the trails and he pointed his nose out and caught all of the interesting smells pouring into the car. He seemed to be in complete bliss! Before we knew it we were at the Reedy Creek Trails and Razz was super excited! He managed to wait for the signal so jump out of the car and listened to me very well. We set off down the trails and enjoyed the cool breeze and sunny clear skies. Razz walked fantastically on the leash and was very curious about all of his surroundings. He kept his nose to the ground and zig-zagged across the paths making sure not to miss a thing. We continued to walk and found a great place for Razz to check out the river. He was timid at first as he dipped his toes into the water. Once he felt the cool temperature and saw that I was stepping in as well, he plunged in. He really opened up after this and seemed more relaxed and comfortable. He was super spunky and splashed around in the water like it was the best thing ever! After checking out the water, he found a big juicy stick and chowed down on that for a bit. He had devoured the stick and proceeded to scoot over to me and roll over exposing his tummy. He was such a cuddly and affectionate little guy! We started to walk back to the parking lot and I noticed that he seemed pretty tuckered out. He was more than happy to climb back into the vehicle and snuggle up on the blankets for his ride back to the shelter. I cant thank you enough for giving the wonderful gift of an adventure walk to a shelter dog in need. Your donation made it possible for Razzmatazz to get out for some much needed exercise and because of this he is now one step closer to reaching his ultimate goal of a forever home. Razzmatazz is available with Richmond Animal Care and Control. If youre interested in sponsoring an Adventure Walk for a rescued dog, please visit canineadventure.net/store/sponsored-walk
