Re Bolsover District Council I would have posted this earlier but not been feeling well. Quite clearly, just as there are differing opinions on here, so are there amongst Bolsover District Councillors. Those representing areas in and around Bolsover support the widely held opinion on here that the baths should come to Bolsover, not Clowne. Remember though that there are far less councillors that represent our area than those that represent the rest of the district. My family has had reason to thank our councillors for their work on our behalf in the past, not least Councillor Tommy Rodda who sadly died earlier this week. To be honest, I dont want to insult the memory of Tom, who I believe has consistently been a wonderful servant to the people of the town for many years. Im not having a go at anyone in particular and I havent got everything right myself but I think its wrong to lump all the councillors together and denigrate them as though they all think the same. Im certain that Tom would not have been happy at the proposal for the baths to be built at Clowne instead of Bolsover and Im sure that the other councillors in and around the town will feel the same. They are Bolsover people and Tom was very much a Bolsover man. Yes, we should address our concerns to both the council and our own councillors about the proposal and the badly conducted consultation but making sweeping statements and generalisations is not helpful, in my opinion.
