Re posted!!!!! THIS WEEKs HOT TOPIC. In the just ending week controversy rocked several top government offices when the Ministry of Health through the Principal Secretary Chris Kangombe denied a MK3 Million donation from Opposition United Democratic Front torch bearer, Atupele Muluzi to the countrys main referral hospitals of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre, Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in the capital Lilongwe and Mzuzu Central hospital saying the Malawi Electoral Commission had made the directive saying politicians should not donate to gain political mileage. Rose Nyirenda, Director of Mzuzu hospital said the hospital was advised by Kangombe. In a dramatic twist of events, MECs Chief Election Officer, Willie Kalonga rebuffed the claims saying the Commission never made the directive. However the Ministry accepted 10 ambulances from president Joyce Banda. 1. What do you make of the issue at hand here? 2. Why is it that government never takes the lives of people sick in the hospital beds at heart? 3. What should be done to deal with mistrust among our politicians? 4. Should donations aimed at helping be denied for such claims? Why and why not? PUT YOUR VIEWS ACCROSS, THEY WILL BE ENCORPORATED IN OUR VOX POP. Talk.....
