Re the tragic and devastating deaths of the 2 WINZ workers in Ashburton..... A few years ago I lost my job and was forced to go on a benefit until I managed to find myself some other form of employment. It was only a total of 3 months but in that time I got the full taste of what its like to walk into a WINZ office. The way they made me feel - they were rude, arrogant, unfriendly and most unhelpful. I truly left my pride at the door each time I had to walk through it.. It was a horrible time and all because of the way Te Awamutu WINZ office treated me. So even though I dont condone this particular mans behaviour - and my heart truly does go out to the victims and their loved ones... If he was made to feel anywhere near the way I was made to feel, I can understand how he could reach rock bottom when he didnt get the help he deserved - I think this man is also a victim... And my heart goes out to him as well :( The Government has a lot to answer for in this situation I think....
