Read Josephs story below and pray for him and his family in Burundi. Our mission worker Nicola writes, Joseph is 13 years old and one of six children, his mum died two years ago and his father is doing his best to raise the family alone. They eat one time per day if his father can find work that day, if not they go hungry or go searching in the local rubbish dump. The family live near our church, it was here that Ezechiel noticed him and in particular that his arm seemed to be seriously damaged. After talking with Josephs father it transpired that he had been bringing Joseph to a local witchdoctor to try and fix his arm after he had fallen two weeks earlier. The traditional medication involved cutting the childs arm twice a day and letting the blood flow from it, believing that would heal it! Hard for us to comprehend. We took Joseph to the hospital and discovered his arm was broken in 3 places and he needed urgent surgery. He has now had this surgery and is recovering well, thank God. We continue to visit the family.
