Read Review of D-Day from our very own Rustam Kshettry @Moviews Very glad to see the Bollywood is choosing several ways and must say a pleasing way to present the story. D-Day is one of the best examples of recent times. Nikhil Advani, who worked under Yash Johar and Karan Johar previously has shown his talent and we’ve seen his potential in his directorial debut Kal Ho Naa Ho already and D-Day is one of his best projects. It seems like he has put all of his effort to complete this projects and each and every character supported him equally. D-Day starts with the bang, the time when movie starts is the time you start seeing the story and keeps you connected each and every second of it. Rishi Kapoor as an antagonist we’ve never seen him before like this and has powerful presence in the movie. Huma Qureshi in a different kind of role of an agent and performed so real. Irrfan Khan is so good as always and Arjun Rampal’s one of the best performances. You cannot find any sequence or scene where you say this might not be needed in the movie. NOT EVEN ONCE. That’s the reason the movie came out so well. Other supporting characters have done their roles according to the need, which is perfect all the time. The story doesn’t demand any song in the movie except Mast Kalandar. However, Alvida is right on time, pictured so well and here it is must to mention that the song tells the story itself in an amazing style. Other background songs are really nice according to the scene and demand. The main feature of the movie would be the real issues like bombing, massacre and other terrorist activities in India, which we have read already or seen on TV and this movie somehow relates those issues as a part of the story. However, don’t worry the movie is not about those issues, or even about gangster. First half is the start of the movie and second half is conclusion there is nothing like middle, which is awesome. The screenplay is so good, even the camera work won’t go unnoticed. Like said earlier the story telling is so pleasing and Nikhil Advani saved BEST for the last. Best things come in the last especially in movies and Nikhil followed that very seriously. It is like expect the unexpected. If you love movies then you sure will like D-Day. A high-octane thriller, which came out so well with perfect direction and with power pact performances and don’t forget THE “astonishing end” DON’T MISS IT. [* * * *] By Rustam Kshettry
