Read research findings of great benefits from mindful meditation including decreased in anxiety and/or depression. MRI data revealed that meditation increased gray-matter density in the hippocampus, a region associated with learning and memory, and decreased density in the amygdala, a brain region associated with fear, anxiety and stress responses. The findings were published online last week in the British Journal of Psychiatry.
