Read this and hopefully youll be enlightened to some of the problems DV Victims such as self have/had to deal with in family courts. This article is to the point and very accurate. The system favors the abuser not the victim. Sadly the victim is told like myself that we deserved the abuse, thats a legal matter even after contacting local authorities including FBI, 3 state senators, and attorney generals office and yes I was told I had ineffective council. Yes, even with two attorneys who did nothing but take my money the truth remains youre better off doing the work yourself especially in my case with an MPA/CJ (criminal justice) degree and yes my own attorney asked me to do my own legal work, which I almost laughed myself off the chair as to what on earth I then was paying for representation, however, the lack of justice even with the documents is truly ridiculous and needs to be changed: justicewomen/help_family_law.html
