I find it disgraceful and unacceptable that certain staff at the offending banks are trying to wriggle out of their responsibilities by basically lying to our members. To all our members with the illegal clause in their mortgage contracts. You are not in the wrong, the offending banks are. How dare they try to justify illegal and immoral actions by trying to pass the blame to their borrowers. It is irrelevant if the banks tells you that you signed a mortgage contract that contained a clausula suelo (even if they had told you, which they would have not) Irrelevant that you signed this in front of a notary (even if he read the relevant clause to you). Should a bank feel pressurised to remove the clause, they cannot as many are doing, insist that you take out a life insurance, contents insurance policy or any other product with them. This is also against the regulations. Please share the information to your friends and family.
