Read this whole post: Weve set the 1000th tire into place! Unfortunately Lyon County doesnt want our Earthship or our farm here. They have sent us a notice to inform us we are now in violation of county code even though were recycling tires that have been donated for 2 years now. Does this sound right to you? Please share this status! Call all your Lyon county commissioners and county manager Jeff Page at 775-463-6531 and voice your displeasure with this decision to stop us from building our Earthship farm project. Then... Come out and help us entomb some tires into a wall, we need only make them into a wall and cover them with cob(mud). No sledge hammer work involved, just throwing mud at stacks of tires. Very light work. Everyone can do it. Kids, parents, and even grandparents. This non structural wall is the only way I can apparently avoid civil and possibly criminal actions from the county.
