Read through this discussion. A pastor had been preaching in a bus when he made these two statements; 1. God sent his only begotten son (jesus in his opinion). 2. You will not enter the kingdom of God until you accept Jesus is God. So after, he finished, I asked, Is Jesus God, or the son of God?. Pastor: (stammers), he is both. I: Then it is ok to substitute Jesus for God whenever we come across the word Jesus in the bible? Pastor: (hesitatingly)... Yes. I: Since you said Jesus is the only begotten son of God, is it correct to say that, God is the begotten son of God? Pastor: (removed his cap and dusted it). You dont interprete the word of God that way... then another man took it up; second man: You see, you cannot understand the word of God with this carnal mind and reasoning of yours, you have to give your life to christ first, then with the power of the holy spirit you will understand. I: Ok sir, since you have the power of the holy spirit and have given your life to christ, please why dont you explain to me. If Jesus is God, it means that God is the son of God. At this time the whole passengers started shouting, the xtians trying to shut me up, a muslim elderly man told them, that if they (xtians) have the right to preach, those listening also have a right to question them. before, i left the bus, the driver said something that made my day, he said though he was a xtian, he realised for the first time, that he did not really understand the most important thing about his religion. He said he will stop going to church until he gets an answer to the question i raised. I sent my phone to him to give me his number, and I alighted at my bus stop, feeling happy, and im sure the xtians were feeling angry at my confrontation.
