Reader question: Id like to start phasing out my daughters - TopicsExpress

Reader question: Id like to start phasing out my daughters formula for a bovine milk alternative such as almond or coconut but Im not having a lot of luck find an alternative that is 1)easily accessible, 2)compares to bovine milk for protein, fats, and calories 3)doesnt contain things like carrageenan. We just started so right now about 25% of her intake is Califia brand almond coconut milk to help her get used to the change in flavor but Im concerned about the low caloric count and low protein, etc. Any suggestions? Currently her formula is Holle brand (bovine based) stage 3 (soon to be stage 4 as a supplement). Holle does have goat milk based formula for kids 12 months and older but Id really like to get away from formula per se and from having to order Holle since its super expensive and can be difficult to get. I do have access to a Whole Foods and a Trader Joes though they are on the other side of the city so Id only be able to do once a week trips to stock up if anyone knows of something good at those places. Thanks!
