Readers, its difficult to express how disappointing and dangerous the images associated with this story are. Railings are put in place for everyones protection, especially the vulnerable, which includes young children. There is ample opportunity for photographs of your visit to the Blue Mountains, without taking these unacceptable risks. I fail to see that the desire for that idyllic shot justifies these actions. Additionally, these actions may also constitute breaches of National Parks legislation. I am aware there are some locations within the Park and other areas that do not have railings, the simple advice here is to stay away from the edge and not place yourself, or others, in danger. The pictures depicted in this story are a clear example of what NOT to do, and set a poor example. Police, other Emergency Services and land managers, such as National Parks, work hard to ensure your safety. At times, these efforts require officers to expose themselves to risk. One of the first steps towards safety is common sense, a quality we need to instil in our younger generation. Lets encourage everyone to make use of it. nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety
