Reading Gods word is just like reading tomorrows newspaper. God is such a good God, He loves His children way to much to leave them in the dark about what is about to happen on this earth. This is why Jesus always ask if you have read it. Everything you need to know is in the word, but if you dont read it then how on earth do you expect to know? Now, granted, if you just pick the bible up, open it and start reading, you will not understand all that you are reading. You must take the word back to its original language in order to know what God said at that time. If you cant speak Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, or some of the other original languages, then you need the books that take you there and translates these languages for you. If you pray to God for understanding of His word, you are pretty much going to get the same answer. There is no other way. The Strongs Concordance is one of the best books to use along side of your bible. It will take you to the Old Testament Hebrew language, and to the new Testament Greek language. There are also other books that you will still need, along with prayer to our Father, but this is how it is done. Those who have done this are the ones who are able to build the relationship needed to enter that door that Jesus opens and closes. We are all equal in the eyes of God, so you can do this.
