Reading "Why People Believe Weird Things" by professional skeptic and debunker Michael Shermer. He describes type 1 cognitive error, believing a falsehood (eg UFOs) and type 2, rejecting truth (eg holocaust denial). By using "belief in UFOs" as an example of type 1, he commits a type 2 error by his own definition. All one needs to do is visit the NICAP website for a full report by year since the late 1940s of radar-and-visual confirmed accounts of unknown objects demonstrating flight characteristics not attributable to any known terrestrial aircraft to ascertain with 100% certainty that UFOs are, in fact, a reality, and not fictitious or visionary.
