Reading friends walls... Well, no. Reading FB Friends walls (most of whom are people I kind of know/acquaintances). Responses from me, in no particular order, tend to go along the following. Said: Heh. Meant (sometimes): LOL Said: LOL Meant (sometimes): Heh. Said: That sounds very difficult. Meant (sometimes): Act like, just once, the actions that youre not taking are what separate you from the outcomes you want. Meant (sometimes): Yeah, that does sound difficult. Said: Take some action! Meant (sometimes): Wow, I have no idea how hard that even is. But youre awesome, so I trust that youve got it within you to respond to this by taking some action and changing it. Said: I have no idea what that means. Meant (sometimes): And I dont want or need to know; why did you put this on my wall, again? Why did you tag me? Why do you think that was even relevant to the post I made or the 96 other comments that came before yours? Because its not. Meant (sometimes): I have no idea what that means. Said: [nothing] Meant (sometimes): I didnt see that, because sometimes Facebook doesnt show me every single post. Meant (sometimes): I saw that, but was so occupied with typing out an answer to a multifaceted question someone else had that I couldnt find your post again by the time Id finished. I totally meant to look for it, though, but then I got distracted. Meant (sometimes): Huh. Never thought of that. Meant (sometimes): Me too. Meant (sometimes): That is so saddening, angering, disappointing, frightening, or disturbing to me that I seriously have no way of comprehending my own reaction, let alone forming words that will be anything close to meaningful in response. Meant (sometimes): Thats awesome. For you. For me, its boring or gross, but my reaction (or possibly lack of reaction) shouldnt indicate that Im not glad youre happy, because I totally am glad youre happy. Meant (sometimes): If your beliefs give you joy and peace, Im glad that you have them. If they give you sadness and stress, I hope you find something to believe in that will serve you better. I may not respect a given belief, but I respect anyones right to have that belief. I even respect the right to believe that you only go to heaven if you kill and eat a baby -- as long as you dont actually DO it, even if your only reason for not doing it is that you believe that before you go to heaven youll go to jail. Hey, whatever keeps you from actually doing it. Dont eat babies, is what Im saying.
