Reading the Epistles of James and 1 Peter today. James chapter 5:12-20 tells us; "But above all things my brethren swear not neither by heaven neither by the earth neither by any other oath but let your yea be yea and your nay nay lest ye fall into condemnation". Verses 16-20 reads; "Confess faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be healed The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much Elias was a man subject to like passion as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rain not on the earth by the space of three years and six months And he prayed again and the heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit (1king Chaps.17 and 18) Brethren if any of you do err from the truth and one convert him Let him know that he which converteth the sinner from the err of his way shall save a soul form death and shall hide a multitude of sins". 1 Peter Chapter 1:3-9 said; "Blessed the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead To a inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away reserved in heaven for you Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time Wherein ye greatly rejoice though now for a season if need be ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perisheth though it be tried with fire might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ Whom having not seen ye love in whom though now ye see him not yet believing ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory Receiving the end of your faith the salvation of souls".
