Real Madrid AGREE five-year contract with Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea target Marco Reus. MARCO REUS is heading to Real Madrid after the Spanish giants agreed a £20million fee with German club Borussia Dortmund. Reus will sign a five-year contract at the Bernabeu worth £26m after shunning interest from Premier League sides Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. According to Spanish online newspaper El Confidencial, two Madrid officials flew to Germany and met Reus representatives before the New Year. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke had this week admitted the club would struggle to keep Reus past this season. He said: My big hope is that he will stay here for a long time, Watzke said on Wednesday. If he decides differently, thats the way it is. One of the challenges in football is to benefit from staff changes in any way and create new things. However, Liga giants Real agreed to trigger Reus release clause and will secure the deal in the summer once the player has recovered from a serious injury. The news leaves Reus English suitors scrambling to find replacements as the January transfer window reaches its half- way stage. Arsenal will step up their bids for defensive midfielder Mario Suarez (Atletico) and Roma forward Mattia Destro. Chelsea, meanwhile, are still bent on landing Lionel Messi, although Manchester United are also targeting the Barcelona superstar. The Blues are also in for Madrids Raphael Varane and Jese Rodriguez, while Uniteds pursuit of PSGs £30m defender Marquinhos is picking up steam.
