Real love is challenging, it requires constant dedication to show up no matter what is going on for us or indeed for those we love. So many are seeking the perfect relationship expecting that when they get it thats somehow it. But that is not the case, real love requires effort. In real love, its not acceptable to wound our Beloved because our own heart hurts. We need to be conscious of and responsible for our feelings and emotions and prepared to face whatever vulnerabilities are exposed. This is an inevitability because real love exposes everything. It is because its a constant force and not continuously withdrawn dependant on conditions. We need to be prepared to communicate and to learn to express what is happening within, only then can we expect another to be able to connect more deeply with us. Its not acceptable to duck out either in presence or emotion when weve made the decision to engage in conscious relationship having developed a strong relationship with ourself. Ultimately all relationship is a relationship with the Self, and we must be prepared to remember that even on encountering our parts that need a little refining. Although the preparation is in coming to know the Self, nothing can ever truly prepare us for the reality of having to face ourselves in the image of another being. In the temple or relationship is where all prior training is put to the test and we have nowhere to run or hide anymore because the doors of the past have closed behind us. This is the exact point when most abandon their journey into love and retreat right back into old fear on finding that truth has actually manifested. Weve got to be ready to be vulnerable and to keep opening up instead of closing even when we want to curl in a ball and lie on the floor with our nails digging in. Just like the seasons come and go, alternating contraction and expansion is a balanced dance, but closing and remaining closed is what happens when we abandon our highest vision. We have known for a very long time that those who resonate would come to us, are we ready now to meet with each other in the sacred space of vulnerability? Are we ready to hold each other, friends, family and lovers alike, as we venture onto higher ground through the open portal of the heart?
