Real time accounts from Greg Manahans friends in Gaza: Hi Naomi It seems no one is immune from Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. Ive heard heard terrible news from my friends in Khuzaa. The house where I was staying which was being used to shelter many families since this latest atrocity began has had to be evacuated as Abu Ayman the family leader was told by the Israelis his house was now a target. In the past 72 hours Khuzaa has been pummelled leaving at least 12 dead and dozens missing. My friend told me that they are sure there are people under the rubble since Tuesday. Israeli soldiers have crossed the border into the village and lifted over 100 people from one clan and 20 from my friends family. The rest have escaped westward to Khan Younis where they are now homeless. 2 ambulance medics were lifted by the Israeli soldiers whilst attempting to rescue people from the rubble. I’m also hearing from Yousef Al Helou, a Reuters Fellow and local freelance journalist that Israeli soldiers are searching ambulances and arresting some of the wounded! I’m feeling very shocked and saddened as this has really brought the situation home to me. These are good people who have no involvement with Hamas or are involved in so called human shields. This is a hard working farming community that has been ripped apart. It’s very difficult to believe that the place that I wrote from and about when we were in contact in 2012 is probably now a pile of rubble. I hope you’re well and please keep fighting the good fight. Best regards as always Greg
