Really, there should be no Pay for Play fieldhouse at all. Since - TopicsExpress

Really, there should be no Pay for Play fieldhouse at all. Since when do we *GIVE* county parkland away to build a for-profit private enterprise (That proponents are calling a Gift to the county.) Astorino is skirting the approval process of permitting parkland to be handed over to private industry (The Childrens Museum had to be vetted through this process even though it it was to occupy the long abandoned Playland Baths)) claiming that parking lots in public parks are not actually public parkland. As one person put it, many of SPIs proposals and the way business has been done throughout this process *does not meet the odor test.* The guy SPI had trotted out as the architect of the new Playland (Bryant Park among his credits) has not been seen or heard from since the original press conference and does not even appear to be involved anymore though SPI doesnt seem to know confirm or deny. This whole debacle been beyond shady from minute one. The county could have brought in one of two international amusement park operators who have the experience, deep pockets and willingness to invest in the park.
