Recall buying my first quality stereo equipment from Eber Hi-Fi on El Camino. It was back in the mid-70s. Couldnt afford Marantz, so I went with a killer Kenwood set-up, with a Technics (Panasonic) turntable (tough choice vs. Girard). Blew my wad on an awesome Aiwa cassette player with what to this day has to be the coolest loading mechanism in consumer electronics history. Cant recall my first speaker brand, but I know I upgraded a few years later to a wicked pair of Infinity boxes. Wore that equipment out, along with my parents patience, blasting Zeppelin, Hendrix, Boston, Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Kansas, Outlaws, Pat Travers, UFO, Foreigner, Ted Nugent, Jeff Beck, alternating every once in a while with some classic Cheech & Chong, BIll Cosby, and Monte Python comedy. Good times!
