Well, I was nervous at first playing for a different team for the 1st time in a playoff game nonetheless but once the game started I quickly found my comfort zone. We won 4-2 and even though a lot of the shots I got were from the outside, I still made my fair share of saves. The other goalie played really well and was a lot busier. Couldnt do much about the two goals. On the 1st one I was totally screened and I think it was re-directed and on the second I probably could have had better rebound control but I stopped the first shot and the rebound went right to one of their guys for an open net gift. My highlight was probably on this one save I made. Some guy took a shot and I went down but the puck took a strange bounce and one of their guys literally had a wide open net to score. However, instead of shooting it right away, he waited a second too late which gave me just enough time to get across and catch his shot right in my glove to rob him of a sure goal.....I must admit that one felt really good. As a goalie, you hate letting in goals and it can be very frustrating and demoralizing but the feeling and adrenaline rush of making nice saves is something else. Yep, there truly is nothing that I would rather be doing in life than stopping pucks and balls. Sorry poker, but hockey will always be #1.
