Recap of an evening highlight in LA: Sought out to get a courtesy - TopicsExpress

Recap of an evening highlight in LA: Sought out to get a courtesy cup of water at a local McDonalds and was given an Orange Hi-C medium cup, fresh fries & and hamburger for free. For many of those that know or dont, I have never eaten red meat or pork in my life, no desire to ever, however I was extremely grateful for the employee showcasing her wonderful spirit going above & beyond for me. Thing is, I had already had a super salad prepared ready to enjoy with some fruit but I was always taught never let food go to waste. So I thought of the next person that could truly benefit from such a gracious deed and I immediately thought The Mission at Skidrow. Those that live in LA know there are thousands of people in need of many things, and unfortunately, a place to call home outside of the streets of LA. So, I headed there immediately, blessed someone else with the meal that was given to me as the man smiled in thanks. About an hour later, I saw another man struggling several blocks away near the USC campus, griming in severe pain, very sadden and super tired. He had a sign asking for food, so I was compelled to drive to the nearest place in this area & it ended up being a McDonalds again around the corner. I bought a meal for him and when I returned within 5 minutes, he had disappeared from the area. I searched up and down the blocks and felt really bad because I know how hungry he looked & wish I could have gave him the meal to help him out for the night. So, I headed back to Skidrow, and gave the meal to another man in need in which he shared with his friends. All in all, it was a great reflection again of how blessed we all are on the daily to wake up each day, be grateful for life, a warm house/apartment if you go home to one, a bite to eat (2-3 times a day or more by choice), the opportunity to make money, provide for others, etc. I pass by that reality each day, and it breaks my heart knowing many struggle daily beyond our imaginations at times. I always give back as much as I can monthly but I know sadly these cycles are far from over. I just want to keep encouraging others to keep serving especially those I know personally that are making a difference daily without the lights, cameras and directors yelling action. That womans karma, generosity and great energy created a synergy that blessed two people tonight all from a simple courtesy cup of water. She was my blessing last night, she rocked, and Im thankful :) Anyway, I thought it was a cool highlight to share on the book, forgive the long dissertation. Gnight, God bless, AR!
