Received a message this morning UNEXPECTEDLY to request my participation in TOCs Fireside Chat of Policy Exchange on CPF issue. I only agree to be on standby if some of the main invited panelists could not make it because CPF is such a big issue that I would need time to prepare for such forum. This young man who called me is really making me to grow more white hair! But I am glad I did finally attended the video forum along with other politicians. Unfortunately, political parties are under-represented in this forum to make their party stance with regards to such a big issue like CPF. Only Reform Party and Singapore Democratic Party have sent their representatives to the forum while other parties have declined sending any. Nevertheless, we had an interesting and stimulating session which we share our views on CPF. It is interesting to note that opposition parties and individual members or activists like me, seem to share quite a big number of points with regards to CPF as a means to Retirement, Medisave and HDB financing. It would be good if more opposition parties could participate in such policy forums so to build upon the common consensus on policy views and eventually consolidate towards a quasi-coalition based on common beliefs in various policy issues or views. If you are interested to know what transpired during this session about CPF, please wait patiently for TOC to launch it.
