Received great news today :) With all my sports photography that I did for Acadia University Athletics this past academic year and their recommendation to Atlantic University Sport (AUS), I am thrilled to say that today, i received an email today from the Communications and News Media coordinator at AUS that I will be granted an all season, all sports event media pass for this upcoming academic year, in return for the use of my photos. This will allow me photograph any sports events at colleges and universities throughout the Atlantic region. This is a huge step for me and a boost in confidence (something that has never come easy for me) for my work. Also received news yesterday that i will indeed be going flying with the search and rescue squadron here in Greenwood, taking photos in preparation for my first entry into the national DND Photo Contest. This is certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture SAR techs at work (including hoisting from a cormorant helicopter and parachuting from the back of a hercules aircraft). These two flights are very likely to happen in the next two weeks. A great couple of days for me, right before going on two weeks vacation. Staying local but looks like a potentially busy but fun two weeks (possibly including a little camping trip for a couple of nights if anyone wants to join me). Will also be continuing to think about my life ahead of me :) Positive vibes :)
