Received in my email today I wanted to report that I’m doing very well in my graduate program and I wanted to express my thankfulness for your existence in my undergrad psych education. You always talked about how important it was to pursue graduate study and how difficult the road to getting into graduate school was/is paired with how difficult graduate study is comparatively to undergrad. If it wasn’t for your teachings and your ability to consistently persevere through students’ incessant at times, complaining of the level of difficulty of the courses you teach, I don’t think I would have as great of a grasp on this graduate education as I currently do. So thank you Dr. Carter for showing me that no matter where you come from or where you have been in life, if you work hard enough you will get to where you desire in life and also for never ceasing to cave and provide a cookie cutter education when you could have because I truly treasured every lecture, every exam, and every lab because you made them mean so much more than a score. I believe that I simply would not be where I am today had I not had someone so great to learn from. Thank you for everything Dr. Carter. I hope that life is going well for you and you’re continuing to challenge tomorrow’s future (students) in their pursuits of their undergraduate degree. There is a lot to treasure about what I do, but at times it is also a painfully thankless path ... when the thanks do come, they are worth a cartload of thankless.
