Recent Australian Trade Balance Data. On 6 June 2013 Australian Trade Balance data showed a significant fall from 0.56b to 0.03b. This was further than the forecast 0.20b. The softening of the mining sector, continued falling commodities, weakening Chinese growth, the question of continued US stimulus, and an upcoming Federal election in September are all key uncertainties relating to the Australian Dollar and stocks. However, this needs to be counter balanced with long term fundamentals of the Asia Pacific region, which are still comparatively solid. Again, careful attention to both the technicals and fundamentals will be important, as well as the ability to separate rumour from the important underlying facts. Kind regards Lee M.
