Recent course graduate Claire Anderson has won funding from the Scottish government for her project Weaving DNA, in which she aims to explore notions of identity and the re-appropriation of textiles. The project forms a collaboration between the Icelandic product designer, Hanna Dís Whitehead and Scottish Textile Designer, Claire Anderson. They re-appropriate traditional Nordic and Scottish textiles, examining the ways in which these represent and shape aspects of national identity. You can follow the project at their blog below: weavingdna.tumblr
