Recently I have been working as a builders labourer on a construction site in Brisbane. Im learning heaps and always thinking ahead, Im working under the site manager ,they have takin me on for now I feel pretty privileged to be working and only being half experienced when it comes to building but Im getting the job done and hopefully it stays that way. Its amazing how much skills you learn from previous jobs and take into the new ones and it becomes fluid and fun! Some advice for people taking on new roles ! Always be thinking ahead dont just stand there if you have no experience just keep asking questions dont be afraid ask! I walked past a dude today that held himself like a wombat dont do that! Hold yourself high and proud and keen to work keep your head up dont walk around looking at the ground you want to be confident and have good self esteem which will give you more energy to get through the hard days. Communication is the key to any successful job the more you communicate with the boss the more work gets done the more you learn and the more competent you become working on your own! Keep positive and have a good uplifted attitude try not to stress when shit goes wrong youll get back on top, worry about yourself and the task you are working on dont get caught up or take other workers attitudes personally your there to do a job and thats what keeps you your job not acting aggressively towards someone who has pissed you off. Keep calm and keep your cool hopefully this helps someone :)
