Recently I received a nasty, hateful email. The email itself was worded terribly, of course, and there are parts I would never repeat to you because I myself don’t speak that way. In actuality, no one had ever really spoken to me that way. So yes, initially I was a bit taken back. I was stunned, mostly because I was shocked that another human being could be so filled with hate. I never planned on giving that email a second thought. Or, even acknowledging it long enough to blog about it here. I don’t feel that I even have to defend the nastiness that was spewed at me in that email. But, it did get me to thinking. Why, as women, is it so hard for us sometimes to just lift each other up? To admire one another as good, strong women who are great mothers, great employees, great leaders, great motivators etc etc etc. Without comparing. Without being overcome by envy. Without getting catty. Because I know deep down that email was not about me, but it was about the sender and how my actions may have been causing her to reflect on her own insecurities. These are feelings that she has that I can’t control. I can try my best to live a good life and be a good-hearted person, but I cannot please everybody. And I definitely cannot “fix” everybody, as much as my little heart would like to. Why do some women tear each other down? With that being said, I would like to say I love all you ladies! Please continue to support and love one another.
