Recently Karyn Washington who created For Brown Girls committed suicide. Shamara Morgan posted this prayer for others who may be suffering from depression and I thought I would share it. If you know anyone suffering from depression pray for them. Speak life into their situation. This has become a rising epidemic in the black community and people tend to brush it off so easily. This is truly a spiritual battle and people need your help and prayers. Not your criticism. Father, with the same love that You used to snatch me out of the enemys hands, I pray You would do for all of those who are suffering from this sickness. I pray that you would balance the chemicals in their brains and silence the voice of the enemy that would lie to them and tell them it will never get better. I pray that you would surround them with your love and angelic hosts and give the boldness and courage to seek help and treatment. I pray that they would feel the warmth of your love surrounding them and that you would give them the strength to call out to you. And for those that do not know You, I pray that You would send me to be a vessel of Your love and healing to them and to meet them right where they are. I pray that You would help me to see their hearts as You see it and give me a Word that would bring them back from the brink of death.
