Recently TRUTHOUT reported that 10 global corporations make almost every major consumer product purchased worldide. Will we realistically be able to survive without many of the products they manufacture? Yes, organic food, spices and herbs can be grown. Homeade soaps, lotions, lip balms, bath and body products for personal care, and perfumes from natural oil essences, even all-natural detergents for dishes and clothes can be made right in your own home, and clothes may be sown on your personal sewing machine or natural fabrics wrapped into beautiful stylish clothing. But, how about things like feminine hygiene products, gardening tools and supplies, clean water, first aid and medical care? In my view many things can be done naturally, but there are some things we as humankind will still need to buy. With the growing global wealth inequality divide, there are many still in poverty worldwide who will need these items. There very well might be a need to bring back the old bartering systems from former cultures used worldwide to trade with ones neighbors or even neigboring countries with each other for certain needs. That is importing and exporting may be the wave of the future to buy and sell on the open global market. In the event this would be the case, and cash were no longer the medium of exchange, what would become the next currency of value around the world?
