Recently an old group of friends went back and for just a brief period, we were young again, laughing and reliving stories that never wouldve been remembered, let alone discussed had it not been for our intention to go back to Arcadia... I go back every day remembering gas lines and rationing, interest rates over 20%, our Nation being held hostage in a newly formed islamist state of Iran, and the assassination of Anwar Sadat by islamists who have been fighting to conquer the entire region for decades. Then, a conservative leader name Ronald Reagan was elected, inheriting a horrible economy, a military that had been cut to dangerous levels, and a Soviet Union in an unprecedented arms race and expansionist posture. Why have we forgotten the fundamentals of what makes a strong and functional Federal Goverment? Ronald Reagan implemented policies that empowered the people over the government, and focused the government on the few basic, but critical roles it was created for (for libs, it was created by the States)... America had never seen better times. Ask yourself, have the policies of fading farther and farther left of Reagans conservative leadership made our Nation better, in ANY way??? If not, then its time to take off the partisan glasses, for ANY Party, and know which candidates pleading for you to send them to represent you is more likely to represent you, or an ever growing and more controlling failing Federal Government? I posit theres NO Democrat that comes close, and quite frankly, while EVERY Republican is better than ANY Democrat, many of them are the same people that fought Reagan. But, his policies and principles won them over, from both Parties, and voters reelected him in a land slide. To know whats wrong with our Federal Government simply go back to a time not long ago, where we experienced miracles by simply returning more control of our Nation back into the hands of the people, along with more of their personal property. Please go back if you really want to go forward in the right direction.
