Recently (okay, maybe not so recent), Ive made friends with this person who is 4 years above my age. We clicked well, shared laughter and both of us are currently in the force. Whenever I spend time with him, time would always pass by like its 10000x the normal time flow. Everytime I see his messages pop up on my phone, I would get really happy and excited. I really enjoyed the company, and hes a really sweet guy and all. Both of us did talk about what we wanna do, in the future, being potential partners and such. Things did progress a little, but I realised that hes unable to leave his past. The pain of him breaking up with his ex was too much. Now, hes afraid of going into another relationship, as well as hurting me. He doesnt want me to experience such a pain if anything were to happen in the future. I did told him I was willing to face it together with him. But the conclusion of the conversation was just to let it flow naturally. Im not the type to rush, but he is really the man of almost everybodys dreams. Humorous, accommodating and kind. Recently he did highlight to me that his ex is starting to make a move on him again. He assured me that he has no intention of going back, but nevertheless, I cant help but feel afraid that old flames may rekindle. I did ask myself too, is this some kind of short term infatuation? Or is this love? Ive asked myself this question countless of times, and I came to an answer today. The feelings, the excitement, the care I have for him is totally on a whole new level as compared to my ex. I want to spend the entire of my life with him. But this feeling of insecurity is not helping. Its all in my head, and I really hope I dont appear to be some irritating prick to him overtime. Really S, Ive made my decision. Im not gonna sit back and wait. Im going to go all out, and I wont lose. Even if I do, at least youre happier than when youre with me. If you ever read this, drop me a sign? - SE
