Recently, social media has been bombarded with videos and pictures of MMDA officers caught doing acts of corruption, people with superiority complex and just plain old road rage. within this short span of time, I think I may have thought of both long-term and short-term solutions to address problems regarding corruption (within the MMDA) and overall traffic conditions. Long-term solutions DASH-CAMS for every purchase of a brand new vehicle, it must be required by law that the buyer would install a dash-cam, if the buyer could afford a car worth hundreds of thousands, even millions, whats a PHP2000 dash-cam? (Within a span of 15-25 years, every car would have a dash-cam and thus would dramatically reduce the chance of road rage, kotong cops and the like) PREPAID COMMUTER CARDS - In a recent video sent to TOP GEAR PHILIPPINES, we would see an MMDA officer accepting bribe money, thus bottlenecking the flow of traffic within the route: what we should remove in this equation is the cash itself, If we have prepaid cards that would be used for transportation expenses then they would have no money to bribe officers with, thus removing a great amount of traffic caused by this act of corruption. Short-term solutions: GOOD CITIZEN REWARD- Regular commuters, ordinary citizens should always be vigilant and immediately record by video any acts of corruption, with this, a fair reward must be granted to those who would submit video evidence of traffic enforcers, a reward of PHP500-1500 (depending on clarity, etc.) should be considered reasonable enough to convince the people to remain vigilant and partake in this campaign.
