Recently there have been some posts and comments that violate other people’s point of view. The current concerns, voiced by many of the members in this group seem to fall in deaf ears with images and content that threatens or incites violence or hate. Facebook’s mission has always been to make the world more open and connected. They seek to provide a platform where people can share and surface content, messages and ideas freely, while still respecting the rights of others. When people can engage in meaningful conversations and exchanges with their friends, family and communities online, amazingly positive things can happen. To facilitate this goal, the Administrator has to work hard to make this group a safe and respectful place for sharing and connection. This requires making difficult decisions and balancing concerns about free expression and community respect. I suggest that the Administrator of this group to prohibit content deemed to be directly harmful and also to block or delete content that is offensive or controversial. I do not think the Administrator is doing anything to remove hate speech quickly; however there are instances of offensive content, including distasteful humour. In recent days, it has become clear that this group is nothing but poetry, particularly around issues of hate and bad content. As part of doing better, I think the following steps must be taken, and must be rolled out immediately: • The group must be review and update the guidelines around hate speech and harmful content. • Increased accountability by insisting that the authors stand behind the content they create. As a result, if an individual decides to publicly share cruel and insensitive content, the Administrator has a right to block or delete the content. • To establish more formal and direct lines of communications to assure expedited treatment of content they believe violate our standards. Its kind of an indictment of POETRY IN MOTION with WILSON B NKOSI sincerity when they cant even bother to reply to many of the comments here that complain about real concerns, real world issues that are happening in this group. To make things even worse, you must scroll for days to read something that’s worth reading…This group consisting of about 39000 members, there most of the posts or comments doesn’t maintain the Standards of this group.
