Recipes On demand, 9th august 2013 - 1ST DAY OF EID Karachi Biryani Ingredients: chicken 1kg, 12 peices Curd 1/2 kg zeera powder 1tsp chilli powder 2tbsp orange reed clour a pinch salt to taste haldee 1tsp rice 1 kg tomatoes 4 coriander leaves 1/2 cup potatoes half kg mint half cup 2 onions green chillies 8-10 black ilaichi 2 black pepper 8 cloves 8 ginnger paste 1tbsp garlic 1tbsp Method: clean and soak the rice for half an hour. boil water and add 2tbsp salt. boil rice till 3/4 done and drain. add all the things Curd, zeera powder, orange clour, salt, red chilli, haldee, ginger and garlic & add the chicken and marinate it. leave it for 1 hour. heat oil, fry 2 onions golden, add marinated chicken, whole garam masala, potato cubes, sliced tomatoes, cover and cook till all done. when the chicken and potatoes are tender, bhunofy it. take another daikchi put quarter cup water and 1/8 cup oill, add 1/2 the amount of boild rice then put chicken mixture on it, followed by corainder , mint and green chillies. and then put remaining rice. cover and cook on high flame till steam starts coming put, then lower the heat and put on a 10min dumm. mix and serve.
