"Reconciliation" II Corinthians 5:18. And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; Wow wow!! Wait a minute..Why did God initiate this process of reconciliation? Were we enemies? Oh yeah, we were enemies. Romans 5:10 “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (If you are not a saved person/if you have not one time called upon Jesus to save you then you are still God’s enemy.)..So, you might say, how and when did we become enemy with God? We thought He was our best friend. For Christians, the answer is yes. God is now our true friend not in the time past. Let me elaborate on that and give you more thoughts on the idea that we were God’s enemies. We were God’s enemies because of our sin. God hates nothing but sin. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Well, how did we become sinners? Adam. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” What did we deserve as sinners then? Death. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death.. Christian, aren’t you glad you are saved and on your way to heaven? It is indeed a privilege to be a child of the living God coz we won’t experience the second death. If you couldn’t remember the time when you called upon the name of the Lord to save you then you are in enmity with God. That simply means that you have not been reconciled to God and you are on your way to hell. By the way, someone needs to reconcile us to God. Who is that middle man? Jesus Christ. I Tim. 2:5 “For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” Christ is the peace maker. He took your and my sins upon Himself. He paid the penalty for our sins. The payment is already made but all you need to do is accept the free gift of eternal life offered freely to you by Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death but the GIFT of God is eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.” It is very sad to see people constantly rejecting the free gift of eternal life, and think they can do some good works or being a good person in order to get into heaven. Christ said, “IT IS FINISHED”. There is nothing that we can do, Christ did it all for us on the Cross of Calvary. Thank God for His unchanging Love. He proved His Love through His Son. May your day be blessed with this message of hope! ~Isaac Kui~
