Records of Apostolic Succession: Several Churches have a LEON - TopicsExpress

Records of Apostolic Succession: Several Churches have a LEON CHECKEMIAN as being listed in their lineage to the Coptic Orthodox Church. This is a historical error. Leo Checkemian was consecrated Titular Bishop of Malatia at the hands of ARCHBISHOP LEON KORKORUNIAN, Armenia Catholic Church Archbishop of the Malatia on April 23 1878. Archbishop Korkorunian himself was consecrated at the hands of GREGORY PETROS VIII DERASDVAZADOURIAN, Catholicos of the Armenian Catholic Church (Eastern Catholic Church) on May 7, 1861. Archbishop Checkemian later went on to leave the Armenian Catholic Church to join the Scottish Episcopal Church. He then become Primus of the Anglican Free Communion and The United Armenian Catholic Church. Therefore, check your lines of succession. If you have this Archbishop within your lineage of apostolic succession, then you do not in fact trace your succession back to St. Mark the Evangelist & Apostle, founder of the the Coptic Orthodox Church. You do however trace said succession back to St. Jude-Thaddeus and Bartholomew the Apostles.
