Recycle your cycles appeal An appeal is being launched for people to recycle their cycles as part of a project aiming to provide training and support for young people. The LiFt and PreVent projects are looking to develop the project in the region and are looking for people to donate any unwanted bikes for refurbishments or spare parts. The aim is to develop the project into a social enterprise that will not just reduce the widespread waste of unused bikes and create a supply of reliable and affordable bikes in Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly but to also provide training in cycle maintenance for young people associated with the LiFT and PreVent projects. The projects will accept donated bicycles in fair to good condition and if they cant be fixed they will stripped for spares. Any spare parts or accessories will be gladly accepted and will be collected from your door. The aim of the project is to train young people in bike maintenance. All bikes will be serviced and refurbished by fully trained cycle mechanics and volunteers and sold back into the communities complete with a guarantee.
