Red Dwarf: The Du-ality jump is a device that was fitted to the Nova 5 and had the capability of allowing a ship to be in two points in space at one time a primative way of speedy travel. Star Trek: Warp Drive was the ability for a starship to far exceed speeds when at impulse power and reduced travel time. Star Wars: Light Speed is enabled via the hyperdrive which created a high speed vortex in which the ship accelerated through. Babylon 5: Hyperspace the concept is believed to be the theory of another level of space where travel was made quicker and efficient but you must posses a ship that has the ability to jump and be able to attract the hyperspace signal and beacon and due to long running wars and disputes among the non-aligned worlds an operational jumpgate unless your ship could form its own jump point Which travel is better and apologies for any errors Im not a scholar lol
