Red Or Green (episode 1) Written By: #Prince Wako Pitori (Prince Mazibuko) It was a friday night when the 18 year old David Masango heard his best friends unique whistle from a distance.At that time,he was sitting at the tv room in his familys 4 roomed somewhere in soshanguve.David found this very strange since it was the first time his friend came to him at that time of the night so he stood up and acted as if he was going to lock the gate.As he walked out of the front door he was asking himself what it was that his friend Sdumo wanted so bad that he couldnt even wait until the next day.As quickly walked towards the gate with suspence,he saw Sdumo impatiently and nervously peeping through at the gate,which made him more curious than he already was.He turned back to check if his dad wasnt peeping through the curtains to check on him then he gently opened the gate and stepped out.Dude!!are you crazy??what are doing here at this time of the night??you know my parents wont like this David whispered.Mfwethu,Im in big trouble.Im in deep trouble.I need a place to hide and youre my only friend,said Sdumo as he wiped the sweat off his face.You know I cant do that without my parents finding out!Thats impossible Sdumo.Youre my buddy and all that but I cant help with this one.How would I even sneak you in??.Sdumo then started to panic with tears flowing down his cheeks non-stop.David Mfwethu,please!Its a matter of life and death.I really need your help.Ill sleep in the garage if I have to .Even though watching Sdumo cry like that broke Davids heart to pieces,he knew he couldnt help him in any way.Please dont do this to me Sdumo jo.Youre putting me under pressure,said David.But your parents dont have to know about this.Ill just sit quietly in the garage and leave before they wake up,Sdumo pleaded.As David stood there and tried to think of a way to help his friend,he saw a black car with no registration plate approaching from a distance and imidiately something told him that this car was looking for Sdumo so he quickly dragged Sdumo into the yard.They both stood against the wall and peeped down the road as the car slowly came closer and closer.When the car was about a house away,David and Sdumo slowly took a step back to hide behind the wall and watched the car as it slowly drove by.The car had dark tinted windows which made it impossible for outsiders to see the people inside it.As the car slowly drove by,David had a very bad and scary feeling shooting from his head to his toes and this told him that whoever was in that car was very dangerous.As they stood there and peeped outside the gate they heard a deep and intimidating voice behind them saying And then???Whats happening here???.Eish!It was Davids father.He was standing at the door with his arms folded giving them that Start explaining kind of look.Davids heart started to beat so fast as he also started to breath heavily with fear while Sdumo just stood there scratching his head as if he was lost.I said,Go iragalang mo!!?? (Whats happening here),Davids father repeated.David put on a fake smile and imidiately his dad recognised this Im about to lie smile.David!Dont you dare lie to me ne!youll regret that if you even try.David and Sdumo nervously stood there silently,thinking of what they were going to say but lucky they were,when Davids mom broke the silence by saying What is a matric learner doing away from home at this time of a friday night??We know you guys like spending time together like other best friends but this is unacceptable.David!You know the rules of this house.Wena Sdumo,Go home before I call your mother.Sdumos eyes burned with fear as he looked into Davids eyes and slowly walked towards the gate.David had never been this worried about his friend before.He was also scared that Sdumo wasnt going home.He knew that Sdumo was to scared too scared to go home because those guys were looking for him.As worried and scared as David was,he also knew his hands were tied.David then shouted Sdumo wait! and Sdumo turned around knowing exactly what David was thinking.He knew that David wanted to tell his parents the truth so that he wouldnt risk going out there alone so he looked at David,winked at him and shook his head as a sign of saying Dont.David sighed and watched Sdumo walk out the gate and into the street.Lock the gate wena,said Davids dad with and angry face.David slowly walked towards the gate as his parents angrily stood there and watched him then he took one last peep down the road to look at Sdumo.He then closed the gate and locked it then he sighed as he pulled the lock to check if it was really locked.David and his parents walked towards the door and David kept turning around hoping hed see Sdumo standing there.When they got into the house Davids parents headed straight to their bedroom and David went back to the tv room.He sat on the couch and started thinking about Sdumo asking himself if he was even okay.What had Sdumo done to those men though??This really didnt make any sense to David because Sdumo was an innocent,kind and respectful boy who always stayed out of trouble.It seemed impossible for David to guess what Sdumo could possibly do wrong.David just sat in the tv room with crazy thoughts running through his mind until his dad opened their bedroom door and shouted Tima tv o robale,oya saturday school kaosan(switch the tv off and go to sleep.You have classes tomorrow).David switched the tv off and headed straight to his bedroom like his father told him to do.He then got into his sleeping clothes and went down on his knees to pray like each and every other night.David got into his blankets,took his phone out and logged into facebook for his daily dose of STORIES BY PRINCE WAKO PITORI.As much as he always enjoyed those stories,that night his mind was wondering out in the streets thinking about Sdumo.At that time Sdumo had gone back home to his mother thinking those guys would come back to look for him the next day instead of the coming back the same night so he was planning to wake up early and leave.In the middle of the night Sdumo heard noises coming from outside so he woke up and carefully looked out the window.He saw the black car parked at the gate and also saw shadows of people sneaking to the back at each side of the house.He slowly got into his clothes and his pair of chuck taylors then he went to the Kitchen.He was suprised to find his mom at the kitchen peeping out the window.His mom knew knew they were looking for him because earlier that day they came pretending to be soccer scouts who were interested in Sdumos talent but she knew they were lying.She turned around and saw Sdumo then she placed her finger on her lips as a sign to keep him quiet.She opened the door and saw that the men were trying to open the door with their tools then she folded her arms and asked may I help you gentlemen?.The guys put on a fake smile and stratched their heads with embarrassment as one of them said Hey Mam.We were about to knock and we realised that your door handle was hanging so we thought we should fix it.Sdumos mom rolled her eyes and asked what do you want?They all looked at her as one of them asked Is your son back yet ?? She put on a bored face and said mxm as she slammed the door before their faces.She then stood quietly and listened to their footsteps as they walked to their car.Sdumo.Start explaining.What do they want from you?Dont lie to me,she asked.Okay mom look.You remember when I went on that science trip a few days ago?When we got there,there was this big science lab where we all got the chance to compete with other schools.My school chose me to represent them since Im the best when it comes to chemicals.As you know we use frogs to test the chemicals that we create since frogs are just like human biengs.I wanted to create a formular that would change the frogs skin in a few seconds.I mixed my chemicals but instead of using this other chemical called pottasium I used the wrong one and the whole formular changed.Instead of changing the frogs skin colour my formular did something else.When the formular comes into contact with blood,it reacts in a very terrifying way.In 5 seconds all your inner organs melt.Get this.If I spray only 2 litres into the air right now,in 5 minutes the whole of soshanguve will be dead.I also didnt know until we all saw the frog melt right infront of us so the scientists took tests and told me in secret how dangerous my chemical was.I refused to tell them the formular that I used because I know someone will use it in a wrong way for money.The guys who were looking for me..They are from Russia.I dont know how they found out about me but they want to use my formular as a military weapon but Im afraid its gona destroy the world......His mom looked at him and responded Nice story my boy.You should right stories.Did you really think Id believe that crap???Your friend Sidney was here earlier on.He told me the whole story.You went to the park after school earlier today.One of the boys had cocaine so he talked all of you into trying it just this one time.The rest smoked it but when it was your turn 3 black cars pulled over and these big men took you with them.The Boy had stolen the cocaine from this guys but you and the other didnt know anything about this.These guys took you to the bush where they killed all the other four boys.You and Sidney managed to escape now they are looking for you.Sdumo,iv always told you that the only good friend in your life was David.Look what youve done now.Sdumo stood there not knowing what to say as her mom cried and walked to her bedroom.As he stood there he heard the footsteps coming back so he stood quietly behind the door.The guys kicked the door open then one of them ran to the bedroom to keep Sdumos mom quiet while the other two searched the house and one of them waited at the door with a gun.They searched and searched while Sdumo stood quietly behind the door.On the otherside David couldnt sleep because he was worried so he took out his phone,went to his phonebook and looked for Sdumos number.On the otherside the guys gave up searching for Sdumo so they just tied Sdumos mom so that she wouldnt scream or do anything.They didnt do any harm to her.Hes not here,lets leave.David pressed call Sdumo and put the phone on his ear.On the otherside when the last guy was right at the door of Sdumos house ready to step out then all of a sudden Trrrrr trrrrrr and........
