Redeeming the Time I have no time to both read and learn the perfectly preserved Word of God AND to read man’s books ABOUT the Word, and certainly NOT to read corrupted versions of the Word from the “Mainstream Media” of the unbelievers in the Alexandrian era. Some are called to study and teach the differences, at this time however I am not. And a new believer, an injured soldier, a “wounded warrior” in the faith, … I believe need the best and purest of nutrients, the most effective rehabilitation plan in order to heal and become stronger, back up to fighting shape. In fact, my “knowing” what evil exists in their additions, deletions, in their hell and blood of Christ denying, and anti-Christ teaching – that, to me, is very much like eating of the tree of the KNOWLEDGE of good AND EVIL. GOD only intended for humans to know GOOD, and to remain innocent as to evil. For, indeed, the sinister plot, the sugary sweet sounds are poisonous to spiritual health and have sapped me of spiritual strength and righteous motivation in time past. Jesus said because iniquity would ABOUND, iniquity-- the inbred sin, the inherited sin-tendency, and the root of bitterness and stem of pride—the love of many would wax cold. Matthew 24:12. (It’s gonna be worse during the Great Tribulation, after the calling out of the church, but as with labor pains before delivery, the pains are already beginning now. 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.) Even when the temperatures rose to the upper 30’s and 40’s, there were still “strongholds” of snow banks along the roads, in the shady areas. Cold keeps cold, heat heats that which is on it and around it. That which is in motion tends to stay in motion; that which is idle tends to stay idle. Paul said that we are to redeem the time – to cash it in for value, to engage our activity and our meditation wisely – because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16. In fact he uses this same phrase in a letter to the Colossians, also. 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Circumspect means “upright,” like a 90-degree post in the ground. The idea of the FIRST part of the word, “circum-,” we use in circumference, meaning the full boundary 360-degrees around. We are to be aware of our past, but not fear what may “catch up” with us, nor keep looking rear-ward, but forward. We are to have both our focus on Him, and our peripheral vision aware of what is on either side, much like the guidelines along the highway. Colossians 4:5 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. To me, the “salt” is my personal testimony as to how grace effectually affected me and still makes my life count effectively day by day. We need to seek HIS leading for the wisdom of timing, teaching, and touching, especially toward those lost, outside (“without”) the fold. We are built on the Rock, let us be stepping stones, and NOT stumbling blocks. My heavenly Father, my times are in YOUR hand. This day may be my last, even before night falls on this area, but that is not my concern. My desire is to be faithful, fruitful, and fearless in my walk with Thee, in my following Thy Holy Spirit today. In Jesus’ name I ask this … Amen.
